  6.   This installation program performs the following steps:
  7.  1. Checks that enough disk space is available to install the product.
  8.  2. Makes sure that TCP/IP is configured.
  9.  3. Makes sure that the internet hostname for the server is specified.
  10.  4. Checks whether any files might be overwritten by this installation.
  11.     Allows you to specify whether any such files are overwritten.
  12.  5. Copies the product files to the system disk.
  13.  6. Configures the product (additional manual steps may be required).
  14.  The product software can be installed from the distribution diskettes,
  15.  from a DOS drive, or from a NetWare volume.
  16.  Press the <F1> key at any step in the installation process to display
  17.  help information.

  20.   Overwriting the serial number will cause problems if 
  21.  the product is already installed with the same serial 
  22.  number on another system.

  24.  Files to Overwrite or Preserve                           Help 1 of 1 
  25.   This list shows the files that are present on the system and can
  26.  be overwritten during installation.  Use this list to indicate 
  27.  whether each file is overwritten or kept unchanged.
  28.  Mark each file to be overwritten by highlighting the filename and 
  29.  pressing the <F5> key.
  30.  All files that you do not mark using <F5> are kept unchanged and are  not overwritten.  If you do not mark any files, none of the files 
  31.  are overwritten.
  32.  When you finish marking files, press the <Esc> key to continue the 
  33.  installation process.

  35.  Boot Drive                                         Help 1 of 1 
  36.   Specify the complete path for the directory from which 
  37.  NetWare is booted.  This path is where SERVER.EXE is located.  
  38.  SERVER.EXE might be on a hard disk drive (for example, 
  39.  C:\NETWARE), or on a boot diskette.  If you boot NetWare from 
  40.  a diskette, make a note of the diskette label.

  42.  TCP/IP Configuration                                       Help 1 of 1 
  43.   This product can be installed properly only if TCP/IP is configured.
  44.  If TCP/IP is not configured properly, the installation program lets 
  45.  you switch to the console screen to do the configuration.  Refer to 
  46.  the NetWare TCP/IP Transport Supervisor's Guide for instructions.
  47.  Once TCP/IP is configured, the installation program checks whether an 
  48.  internet name is assigned to your server. 
  49.  If no name corresponds to the IP address you used to configure TCP/IP,  the installation program prompts you for the local hostname.  The 
  50.  hostname consists of alphanumeric characters only, no dots or spaces. 
  51.  You cannot continue the installation until you configure TCP/IP and 
  52.  specify the local hostname.

  55.   This step transfers files from the source diskette
  56.  to the NetWare partition.

  59.   Select the NetWare volume on which you want to 
  60.  install the product.  Highlight the volume and 
  61.  press the <Enter> key.
  62.  The list shows only volumes that are present and 
  63.  mounted.  If the volume you want is not listed, 
  64.  press the <F10> key to exit installation, mount the 
  65.  volume, and repeat the installation.

  68.   This form allows you to enter the following parameters:
  69.  IP Address
  70.  Hostname
  71.  Subnetwork Mask
  72.  Maximum Packet Size
  73.  Minimum Receive Buffers
  74.  LAN Driver
  75.  The form provides the format for the IP Address, subnetwork 
  76.  mask, and hostname, and provides default values for the 
  77.  remaining parameters.

  80.   The help file that contains the online help screens 
  81.  is not present is the SYS:SYSTEM directory.
  82.  The program will attempt to transfer the file to the

  84.  transfer is successful, you should be able to view 
  85.  help screens the next time you next run the program.
